The gardens and pool
The Bergerie is set in about three acres, with extensive views to all aspects. With woods and flower meadows everyone can find somewhere to relax.
For the children there is a play area with swings and a slide and an exciting old "charrette " (farm cart) to serve as den and much more to the fertile imagination.
The centre piece of the garden is the building which gave the bergerie its name - an old sheep pen which is now used as the pool house. This provides cover from the hot sun of the afternoon, a room to change in and a prime spot to take evening drinks while watching the sun set.
The pool itself is 9x4 metres, sanitised by salt (better for the skin they say) and covered by a motorised shutter for safety and insulation.
Parts of the garden are given over to our very tame hens, Betty and Blanche. Children are very welcome to help feed the hens and collect the eggs.
We also have two very cute little donkeys, known as Lucie and Rosie , too young to ride but lovely to stroke .
